Sisters Release Doves
Our sisters (minus Adriana who is in Rome) and plus a candidate.
Our Capuchin sisters began the final part of the “Year of Clare” with a Transitus on Friday evening, August 10th.
They celebrated with an “open garden” from 9:00 till 2:00 on Saturday Clare’s Feast day and a Mass at 6:00 pm followed by a social in the Garden. The clouds opened up with a nice rain at the end of Mass, followed by a magnificent rainbow and a beautiful sunset. The rain became gentle enough to allow for a great evening in the sisters’ garden.
Brothers Christopher Popravak and Bill Kraus concelebrated. Students served. The choir from St. Augustine Parish in Brighton led the music. Deacon Jim Blume served as deacon. About 100 people attended. The sisters are in possession of the original icon that was “written” for the Year of Clare. (They won it in a drawing at St. Bonaventure’s University.) Bill Kraus explained the message and meaning of the icon at the end of the Mass.
