Deacon Jim Blume, O.F.S., Inducted as Legacy Partner in National Advocacy Organization
Deacon Jim Blume, past President and CEO of DSNWK was inducted as a Legacy Partner by the ANCOR Foundation for his leadership of Developmental Services of Northwest Kansas (based in Hays, KS)
for thirty two years. ANCOR is the premier trade association representing 800 private providers, including DSNWK, providing supports for nearly 500,000 Americans with disabilities living in the community. The ANCOR Foundation Legacy Leaders Circle honors accomplishments of the men and women who through their leadership have promoted better lives for individuals with disabilities. ANCOR is based out of Alexandria, VA.
In presenting the award, the Foundation noted, “after many years of passionate devotion and leadership, Jim followed his calling and gave up many of his earthly possessions and became a servant leader, ministering to the needs of the poor in Denver, CO.”
“Jim was an active and inspiring member of the national ANCOR Board of Directors”, noting that Blume served several terms as Vice President of Services for the organization and was a frequent conference speaker. He chaired the Communication/Information & Technology Committee for many years as ANCOR established its presence in social media. Jim also served on the Quality Enhancement Committee, the Regulatory Reform Committee and was ever present in the governmental affairs efforts of ANCOR to impact Congress and promote the improvement of the lives of individuals with special needs.

Blume has his Master’s Degree from the McClaren School of Management at the University of San Francisco.
Deacon Jim is a member of the Secular Franciscan Order and is in his third year as the Coordinator of the Vocation Office for the Capuchin Franciscan Province of St. Conrad. At St. Pius Parish in Aurora, Blume, who is bi-lingual, also ministers as deacon. Blume and his wife Rose live in Aurora, CO where Rose continues her twenty three year plus career in Special Education.
Blume was hosted at the annual ANCOR conference in Miami in early May where he was inducted as a Legacy Partner during a special ceremony.
