The Capuchins have a new cookbook available for purchase!
Cooking with the Caps, collected recipes from friars and friends of the Capuchin Province of Mid-America, is a beautiful hardcover edition featuring over 130 pages of delicious recipes. Br. Eugene Pellegrino, the book's dedicatee, contributed 82 of the recipes, and ten other friars offered 32 more. Friars' friends then brought the grand total to 239.
With its great illustrations, charts, plenty of wonderful tid-bits on the friar's way of life, as well as some good old Capuchin humor, the book is available for purchase through the Capuchin Development Office at (303) 433-0296. Or you can print out our
online order form and mail it in at your convenience. For questions regarding the cookbook or the Capuchin Franciscans, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Br. Basil Joseph, summer guest of the province, brought the book nine dishes from his home in India. Other Capuchin recipes came from Mark Schenk now of Rome, Joe Schreck in Puerto Rico, Thaddeus Posey in Washington, Blaine Burkey then of St. Louis, Duane Reinert in Lawrence, Gilmary Tallman in Hays, Gene Emrisek then of Colorado Springs, and David Songy and Malachy McBride of Denver.
