When asked by the would-be apostles, James and John, where Jesus was going, the Master answered, "Come and see." Genuine discernment requires concrete experience on which to meditate. No one can discern in a vacuum. Likewise, discernment of the religious life requires some knowledge and experience of religious life on which to base that discernment. This weekend will offer young men interested in the Capuchin Friars just such an opportunity. Join Vocation Director, Fr. John Lager, and friars at various levels of formation in a "Rebuild My Church" discernment retreat in Victoria, Kansas. The retreat is from March 4-6 and will be held at St. Fidelis Friary, attached to the beautiful Cathedral of the Plains (one of the 7 wonders of Kansas!).
Retreatants will be introduced to the Capuchin life and spirituality, and will have ample time for Eucharistic Adoration, recitation of the Rosary, discussion with the vocation director and other friars, and private prayer. If you have been contemplating a possible vocation to religious life, this is the perfect opportnity. Anyone interested in attending the retreat should
contact Fr. John Lager, O.F.M.Cap.
